Carolina Inspection Services, Inc. (CIS) is an accredited agency with the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to provide heat treatment (HT) inspection services for both lumber and Wood Packaging Materials (WPM).

CIS heat treatment program was established to meet the growing needs for wood packaging producers and lumber producers who must conform to international standards for WPM in accordance with International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC), and ALSC guidelines.

At CIS we pride ourselves on forming a partnership with each client we serve. Because of our hands on approach, well trained, highly qualified and talented staff, CIS can provide any size company with a complete line of services. Our flexibility allows us to help you make sense and properly manage IPPC and ALSC regulations that are required for many international and domestic shipping containers, pallets, crates and boxes.

The Objective of CIS is to assist WPM and Lumber producers in their transition to IPPC Guidelines for International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15).

Phytosanitary measures are aimed at reducing the risk of introducing and/or the spread of quarantined pest associated with wood packaging material, including dunnage made from coniferous and non-coniferous green lumber.
